Indonesian submarine found at the bottom of the Bali Strait

“Based on the authentic evidence, we confirm that the KRI Nanggala has sunk, and all the crew members have fallen.” Said Indonesian air chief marshal Hadi Tjahjinto

Underwater images captured by a remotely operated vehicle revealed the wreckage of an Indonesian submarine at depths of about 838 meters, the submarine had been missing since Wednesday. The images showed such objects as a vertical rudder, an anchor, and multiple safety jackets.

“All of the fallen crew members were the nation’s best men,” said Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto “I believe their dedication will not go in vain.”

The announcement comes just after the Indonesian navy stated that the submarine had almost certainly sunk, due to officials finding debris floating straight near the sub’s last known location. The sub was later found split into three pieces, and Chief Marshal Tjahjinto has since offered his condolences to the families of the submariners killed in the tragic accident.

Updates on the COVID-19 Vaccine

The virus started over a year ago and many people thought that it would take longer to get a vaccine then it. did. Starting slowly, limiting who was able to get the vaccine was a good idea, because if they would have just let everyone get it at once there would have been a shortage. Many people have been hesitant to get the vaccine and what the side effects would be, or if it would even be effective. So far, millions of people have gotten the vaccine and have been glad they did. South Carolina recently started to let children 16 and older get the vaccine and many young people have started to get it. There are rumors that the side effects are not so bad for the first shot but for the second shot there have been more reactions. Hopefully more people will become vaccinated, and the cases of the virus will be. little to none. We have come so far but there is still more that needs to be done.

President Biden's First 100 Days

  • 140 million Americans were vaccinated.

At the center of the administration's plan to end the public health crisis is the push to get as many      shots into arms as quickly as possible. And if there has been one theme on that front, it has been to   under promise and over deliver.” Source: NPR

  • COVID-19 cases went down 73%.

“Under Biden, new daily cases have dropped from an average of more than 199,000 in the week leading up to his inauguration to about 54,400 cases today — a 73% drop.” Source: NPR

  • Job approval is at 53%.

  • Unemployment is at 6%.

“U.S. employers have added more than 1.2 million jobs since Inauguration Day, and while that is certainly welcome news inside the White House, nearly 10 million Americans arestill out of work and the jobless rate is stuck about 2.5 points higher than it was before the pandemic. To be sure, most economic conditions are beyond a president's control, so it can be tough to assign too much credit or blame to whoever's in office, especially 100 days in.” Source: NPR

  • Sixty-two Trump orders reversed.

“Executive action has also been a way for Biden to make good on promises to undo some of his predecessor's most controversial policies. He has recommitted the U.S. to the Paris climate agreement, halted the U.S. exit from the World Health Organization and paused construction of the border wall.” Source: NPR
